Mat- or clump-forming perennial, with stolons producing small rosettes. Flower stems slender, mostly simple, 1-to few flowered.

Rosette leaves obovate to oblanceolate, to 2 in. long.

Flower measuring,between 15 - 25mm (5/8 to 1 inch.)¹⁾

Erect, calyx without appendages, lobes linear-lanceolate, half as long as the corolla, corolla lilac, about 1 in. long, broadly campanulate.

Seed available, in small quantity. Species actually grown or used for breeding ²⁾
