Monocarpic, silvery-pubescent, erect, to 2 ft. or sometimes without a main stem. Campanula formanekiana Degen & Dorfler (Bot. Mag. T.9436) from N. Macedonia, was at one time believed to be a rediscovery of Campanula ephesia. It differs in the number of ovary-loculi, traditionally a diagnostic feature, and its usually white flowers, different leaves and clayx 3).
Rosette leaves winged petioled, blade abruptly expanded, ovate or triangular, to 1 ½ in. long, coarsely toothed, stem leaves sessile.
Flower measuring, over 50mm (2 inches)4)Flowers in leafy panicles, ascending to nodding, calyx with appendages, lobes serrate, corolla white, to 1 ½ in. long, narrow-campanulate with reflexed lobes. Whitish-blue, 2 1/2 in. bloom 5)
