ABSTRACT: 49 cultivars of Campanula L. were collected in 1970 and 71 and kept in quarantine on the score of nematode's occurence. 34 cultivars survived the quarantine and cuttings were taken after the flowering. In September the same year, the experiment were planted out at two locations and completed in 1974. Apporvement was given to the following 7 cultivars: Campanula carpatica 'Alba' S74, Campanula carpatica 'Karl Foerster' S74,Campanula garganica 'Blue Diamond' S74,Campanula glomerata 'Superba' S74,Campanula grandis 'Percy Piper' S74,Campanula portenschlagiana 'Birch Hybrid' S74 and Campanula porscharskyana 'Stella' S74.
